RMS TITANIC INC
Recovered during RMS Titanic Inc.’s 1998 expedition, Big Piece is the largest artifact ever recovered from #TITANIC. Following recovery, it underwent extensive conservation, including 18 months of desalination, that revealed traces of original paint. Carefully preserved through ongoing treatments, Big Piece is more than metal; it’s a powerful reminder of TITANIC’s scale, strength, and human story.
The only place in the world to see it is at TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition Las Vegas, located inside the iconic Luxor Hotel.

So much of #TITANIC’s story is told through what survives. 📜
Of the 12 pieces of luggage recovered from the debris field of the wrecksite, only two have been identified as belonging to women. These items—linked to Marian Meanwell and Berthe Mayné—offer rare, personal insight into the lives, journeys, and plans for these women in 1912, and why preserving what remains matters.

Coal is more than fuel in #TITANIC’s story. It’s also part of the wrecksite’s landscape, scattered across the debris field and often settled among smaller artifacts.
At RMS Titanic Inc., preserving and understanding the site is ongoing work. Alongside conservation and public education, our teams continue an extensive mapping and documentation project originally started by Paul-Henri Nargeolet (“PH”) and Ken Vrana—Current Director at the Center for Maritime & Underwater Resource Management ("CMURM"). Following PH’s passing, Ken continues to lead this research effort, ensuring the work carries forward in honor of PH and all those with a curious mind and an explorer`s heart.

#OnThisDay in #History, the largest #TITANICartifact was recovered during the #RMST 1998 Expedition. Big Piece, 15 tons, has found its home in #LasVegas, while its partner, 2-ton Little Piece, is on display in #Orlando.
